How To Create Even When You’re Busy

Think you’re too busy to learn?

That problem has already been solved. If you don’t know about the glories of audiobooks and podcasts by now, you’ve missed out on years of learning you could have done while walking the dog or making food for the family.

But how about creativity?

You don’t have to look far for an answer here, either. With the technology on your phone, it’s not necessary anymore to even have free hands to do creative work – you just need your voice.

Open up your voice memo app or your video camera app.

Maybe you can record a series of rap songs while you drive to work. Maybe you can record your thoughts on a recent book while you iron your clothes. Maybe you can record a philosophical conversation with a friend while you go for a walk.

This is more practical than you think – one of the first podcasters who really influenced me got his start recording video/audio on his commute to work.

It’s great if you’re already using those physically-busy but mentally-free times to learn from podcasts and audiobooks. But if you want to go one step further, start using those times to generate, too.
